St. Bonaventure drops third straight game in heartbreaking fashion

St. Bonavanture’s struggles continued on Wednesday night. Rhode Island’s Jamarques Lawrence completed a four-point play in the final seconds of the Atlantic 10 Conference matchup, as the Bonnies blew a double-digit halftime lead to drop their third straight contest, 68-64.

Jonah Hinton led St. Bonaventure (17-9, 5-8 A-10) in scoring with 18. Noel Brown, Melvin Council Jr. and LaJae Jones also scored in double digits for the Bonnies.

Lawrence led the way for Rhode Island (16-8, 5-7 A-10) with 20 points. David Green and Sebastian Thomas also scored in double digits.

Wednesday’s contest in Rhode Island was an important game for the conference standings. The Bonnies’ struggles continue to haunt them as they are 3-8 in their last 11 games. This is a complete fall-off for a team that started so hot.

St. Bonaventure will travel to UMass, with the matchup set for noon ET Saturday. It marks an important game of the Bonnies as they look to get back on track.
